Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the cooling of the turbine disc of a gas turbine in which a centrifugal compressor and a radial-flow turbine are placed back to back around a single axis and to simplify the cooling structure of the gas turbine.
CONSTITUTION: In the operation of a gas turbine, high-pressure air compressed by a centrifugal compressor 2 is used for combustion in a burner 19 and the combustion gas is ejected to a radial-flow turbine 3 to rotate a turbine disc 11 and an output shaft 1. At that time, some air always leaks along a non-contact seal 10 at the side of the compressor 2. Since the leakage air flows in the direction of an arrow in a fixed frame 9, the leakage air is guided to an inside opening 23 by an annular cover 20 so that the leakage air flows into a cooling passage 22 to forcedly cool the back of the turbine disc 11 to reduce the temperature rise of the disc. The leakage air is then discharged into a gas passage 15.
