Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent leakage of the low boiling point medium to outside of the system by charging air into the labyrinth packing section that is the shaft sealing section of a low boiling point medium turbine and for the prevention of leakage of the low boiling point medium vapor in order to seal the low boiling point medium vapor and at the same time separating the vapor and the lubricant.
CONSTITUTION: The rotor shaft 19 with moving blades 24 in an annular arrangement of a low boiling point medium turbine is supported by a journal bearing 22 at the journal 20, and a shaft packing 31 is provided between the first ste turbine disc 30 and the journal section 20 of the shaft 19. A shaft packing 32 is provided on the casing side of the packing section 31 and the atmospheric air from a blower 38 is charged into the intermediate point of the packing section 31 after passing through a desiccating section 37. A part of the dry air sent into the packing section 31 flows into the bearing 22 and the rest of the air leaks into an exhaust chamber B through the system 41 of a shaft packing and an exhaust chamber. At this time, the low boiling point medium vapor 41 which leaks into the packing section 31 akso leaks into the exhaust chamber B through the above said system 41.
