Abstract
PURPOSE:To have a flat grinding face until the life of metal-bond grinder element comes to end owing to thorough wear of the portion for grinding, by constituting the grinder element by main grinding layers and sub grinding layers. CONSTITUTION:This grinder element is composed of main grinding layers 4 and sub grinding layers 5 layed alternately and consolidated, where the layers are positioned in parallel with the sides 6 of the grinder element and the edges 4 are formed by the main grinding layers in an odd number of three or more. This assembly is sintered for consolidation and brazed to the outside circumference of the base 2. When the material to be processed is hard and brittle, the working face 7 of the grinder element's tip shall be so conditioned that the sub grinding layers are concave, and when cemented carbide, hardened steel, etc. is to be processed, the working face shall be flat.
