Abstract

1390825 Abrasive tools MOLDIAM SpA 30 March 1972 [19 Jan 1972] 15229/72 Heading B3D A saw for cutting natural, synthetic and cement agglomerate stone material comprises diamond impregnated teeth 16 having side surfaces of additional abrasive. The saw may be in the form of a disc 10 having peripheral slots 12 and portions 13 to which the teeth are welded or brazed, or be in the form of a strip (11a, Fig. 6, not shown). The teeth consist of sintered segments, each segment having a non-abrasive base 14, Fig. 3, and an outer part 16a of diamonds. The side surfaces 16b have granules of metal carbides such as tungsten or titanium or mixtures thereof, nets 16c, Fig. 4, of woven threads of tungsten, molybdenum or other carbide, or a mosaic 16d, Fig. 5, of plaques of carbide. The additional abrasive reduces the transverse wear"of the segments during cutting.
