Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the plate width of metallic plates produced freely changeable and make two pieces of metallic plates produceable simultaneously with the same installation by constituting a direct rolling type continuous casting machine for metallic plates by using two sets of water cooled roll pairs. CONSTITUTION:The water-cooled type rolling rolls of the direct rolling type continuous casting machine for metallic plates are constituted of two sets of roll pairs of vertical type rolling rolls 11a, 11b and 12a, 12b, and a side dam 21 made of refractories is disposed in the bottom part of the space for casting formed of these four rolls. Molten metal is teemed from a nozzle 22 into the space for casting, both roll pairs 11a, 11b and 12a, 12b are rotated respectively in opposite directions, and metallic plates 20, 20' are rolled continuously and simultaneously through the clearances between the 11a, 11b and 12a, 12b, and are drawn out by pinch rolls 24. It is possible to change the width of the plates 20, 20' produced freely by changing the height of the molten metal teemed into the casting space formed by the four rolls.
