Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove heavy metal ions efficiently and prevent the occurrence of pollution by bringing waste water contg. heavy metal ions of iron, zinc, etc., into contact with carbonized chaff, then treating the same with a sulphidizing agent and bringing the same in contact with carbonized chaff thereby adsorbing and filtering the waste water.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of water tanks 1 each segmented to a liquid body 6 supply chamber 3, a carbonized chaff layer material chamber 4 contained a carbonized chaff layer, and a liquid discharge chamber 5 are disposed in a longitudinal row in a staircase system, whereby main water tank rows 1aW1f are constituted. The water tank 1a and the water tank 1b are used as an iron ion treating system, and iron ions are adsorbed and filtered by these. An aq. sodium sulfide soln. is added from a sodium sulfuide dissolving tank 11 by a pump 12 or the like to the treating water in the liquid discharge chamber of the tank 1b, so that zinc ions, etc. are turned to sulfide. Further while the treated water is flowed successively down in the tanks 1cW1f as a zinc ion treating system, by fall thereof, it is adsorbed and filtered.
