Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a light, safe, durable catalyst of small heat capacity by using silicate compound of Al etc., titanium oxide and calcium aluminate as essential components of a catalyst carrier for gas purification.
CONSTITUTION: For a catalyst carrier for purifying CO, HC, soot etc. from a cooker, oil heater etc., silicate compound containing metals such as Ca, Mg and titanium oxide are used as essential components and calcium aluminate is used as a binder and let the carrier carry a catalysing component such as metal of platinum group etc. This catalyst is light, heat resistant and small in heat capacity and does not act as a catalyst poisoning substance, and inexpensive.
