Abstract
PURPOSE:To set only 1 processor of plural console units to on-line at all times, by connecting in series a connection controlling part provided on each of said console units to each other, and providing an exclusive function to each of them. CONSTITUTION:Only one of plural console units U1,U2 is used as a now-in-use device, the other is used as a stand-by device, and only one stand-by device is made to the now-in-use device automatically when the now-in-use device has been detached or has been set to off-line, by this now-in-use and stand-by switching system, and the plural units U1,U2 are connected in parallel to a common bus, and a connection controlling part CONT provided in each device is con nected in series to an inhibit signal line INH. When the INH from the poststage side exists, the INH is sent out to the prestage. When an SW is closed in the following poststage unit, the INH is given to its unit, and it is set to off-line. The unit of the poststage side is usually set to on-line, and when a fault has occured in it, the prestage is set to on-line.
