Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a porous printing material having good preservability and rich in uniformity and elasticity, by subjecting a vulcanized rubber powder and a thermoplastic resin powder to addition bonding.
CONSTITUTION: To a stock rubber such as a synthetic rubber or the like, a vulcanizing agent, an additive, a soluble substance (e.g.; a starch) are added and kneaded therein and, after the resulting kneaded compound is vulcanized in a metal mold, the obtained vulcanized rubber is ground into a particle with a particle size of about 10W100μ by a freeze mill machine or the like to obtain a vulcanized rubber powder. Next, to a solution prepared by dissolving a thermoplastic resin (e.g.; PVC) in an org. solvent (e.g.; methyl ethyl ketone), the aforementioned vulcanized rubber powder is added and sufficiently mixed therein and, thereafter, the solvent is evaporated and the resulting solid substance is ground into a particle with a particle size of about 10W100μ by a freeze mill machine or the like and soluble substances of the obtained powder is removed by using water to obtain a powder for a porous printing material. Subsequently, in a metal mold 1 having a negative printing 2 plate having a character, a figure or the like engraved thereto, the powder of the aforementioned porous printing material is introduced and a press plate 3 is applied to heat and pressurize said powder for 5W 10min under a pressure of 10W100kg/cm2, a compression ratio of 25W50%, and a temp. of 80W 150°C to obtain a porous printing body.
