Abstract
PURPOSE:To reutilize neutralized sludge and to prevent the elution of Fe, Ni, Cr, F, etc. therein by adding the neutralized sludge into molten iron after drying. CONSTITUTION:In the pickling treatment of, for example, stainless steel, by a fluoronitric acid, the degraded waste fluoronitric acid soln. (waste fluoronitric acid) contg. Fe, Ni, Cr, F, etc. is produced. The neutralized sludge produced by neutralizing this with Ca(OH)2 is dried. Since the neutralized sludge after drying has a high content of CaF2, this is effectively utilized when it is added into molten iron as a substitute for an accelerator for slag making of a desulfurizing agent for molten iron. The above-described elements such as Fe, Ni, and the like in the neutralized sludge are confined into the slag produced during desulfurization, whereby their elution is prevented.
