Abstract
PURPOSE:To charge raw materials of irregular sizes all together into a furnace without closing the inside of chutes by horizontally rotating a hopper with plural pieces of distributing chutes having shoes at the bottom ends extending to near the inside wall of the furnace in the furnace top part. CONSTITUTION:For example, the furnace port part 3 of a shaft furnace 1 for reduction of iron ore has a furnace top gas discharge port 4, and a swiveling type raw material charger 5 disposed at the furnace top end right above the center. A hopper 10 connected with three pieces of distributing chutes 16 is suspended to the top plate 7 thereof freely horizontally movably. The chutes 16 are curved gently vertically after extending downward at the elevation angle larger than twice the angle of repose of fine particles of raw materials, and are pivotally fitted freely oscillatably in an advance direction with soes 20 having the discharge ports communicating with the openings of the chutes 16 at the center. When the hopper 10 is swiveled by a motor 14, the raw materials A are charged in the form of small particles right under the discharge ports of the chutes 16 and that of large particles as they go further. At this time, in spite of existence of undulation in the charging line of the raw material top surface, the shoes 20 glide stably, and vibrate the chutes 16 and the hopper 10 at all times, thereby preventing the closing with the raw materials.
