Abstract
PURPOSE:To dehydrate solids effectively and rationalize solid-liquid separation process considerably by pressing and discharging the solids accumulated in the lower bottom of a settling vessel by means of a screw of gradually decreasing pitches as it goes downward. CONSTITUTION:Liquid to be treated is injected through a liquid injection course 4 into a vessel body 1 and is dropped spirally. Solids are accelerated of settling by a funnel-like part 1A, and accmulate in the lower bottom of the vessel body 1. The supernatant is returned through a cylindrical body 5 to a liquid storage vessel 31. The accumulated solids are fed to a downward discharge route 7 by rotating a screw 11 with a motor 20. Since the pitches of the screw 11 decrease downward, the solids are pressed and liquid is squeezed out. The squeezed out liquid is flowed into a clearance 9 through a filter cylinder 10 by the suction force by a vacuum discharge route 12, and returns to the course 4. The solids accumulating on the inner side of the cylinder 10 are scraped off by the screw 11, and the dehydrated solids are discharged through a sludge discharge route 13.
