PURPOSE: To manufacture a cold rolled bright steel sheet having a prescribed roughness in its front and back surfaces, with a high yield, almost having no need for a buffing work, by permitting a rolling roll to apply a temper rolling process to the steel sheet.
CONSTITUTION: The titled steel sheet is especialy suitale for use of a stationary binder, a stove reflector, etc., and has a surface roughness, ≤0.05μ Ra on one side and ≤0.10μ Ra on another side. The work rolls 1, 2 and backup rolls 3, 4 of a concerned rolling mill are driven to rotate respectively in a direction shown by an arrowed mark. A foreign matter, adhering to the surface of the work roll 1 is removed by a brush 5. A temper rolling mill oil supplied from a nozzle 6 keeps the surface of the work roll 2 clean; the temper rolling mill oil entering the feed-in side along with the rotating surface of the backup roll 4 is removed away from the roll surface by a wiping action of a pressure gas jetting device 9. For the purpose of more perfectly wiping off the remaining temper rolling mill oil, it is brushed off by a brush 10, and hereby, the surface of the work roll 2 is brought into a very poorly wetted quasi-dry condition. Then the steel sheet P is fed to the dry and quasi-dry work rolls 1, 2 and receives wherein a prescribed temper rolling process, and is finished into the front and back surfaces having said roughnesses. The higher the fineness output of the surface of rolls 1, 2 is, the more favorable they are.
