Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a compact lamp of preventing crosstalk discharge by heat- sealing easily a mount with an electrode 4 on a U-shaped tube and sealing a lead wire through a button stem to support and fix the U-shaped tube. CONSTITUTION:A mount 12 on which an electrode 4 coated with an electron emissive material and a lead wire 11 for supporting the electrode 4 are provided is sealed with a burner on an open end 5a of a U-shaped internal tube 5 on the inside wall of which a phosphor 7 is coated. The part of the lead wire 11 leading to the electrode 4 which projects towards opposite direction from the electrode 4 is covered with a covering glass 13. The lead wire 11 which projects from one open end of the internal tube 5 is penetrated through a barring hole 14 for sealing provided on a button stem 3, the end of the lead wire 11 is welded and fixed on the barring hole 14, and accordingly the internal tube 5 is fixed on the button stem 3. Thus a compact fluorescent lamp with easy fabrication can be obtained.
