Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure an even slit width between a developer carrier and a coating blade, by providing a bend compensating means to the blade. CONSTITUTION:A coating blade 4 is supported by an attachment screw 7 attached to an attachment board 8. The board 8 can be slightly moved up and down to give a fine adjustment to the slit width. A bend compensating arm 9 is attached by welding onto a hopper side plate 3 at the center part of the blade 4. A pressure spring 10 is attached to the tip of the arm 9, and this screw 10 is turned to press the blade 4 with the screw 10. Thus an overall bending is compensated for the blade 4. The bend compensating means can also be attached in a body to the blade 4.
