Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the loss of pressure when gas passes through catalysts and to obtain a small gas purifier excellent in purifying capacity by a method wherein oxide catalysts in the form of a honeycomb is heaped vertically in a plurality of steps.
CONSTITUTION: The catalysts 4 are arranged horizontally in a cylinder part 2 by a suitable supporting means and arranged vertically at suitable intervals in a plurality of steps. A heater 5 is placed under the catalysts 4 and said catalysts are heated approximately at 300°C. In said gas purifier, the purified gas introduced from a duct hose 7 is heated by the heater 5 up to approximately 300°C, oxidized and purified when the gas passes through the catalysts 4 and exhausted from the end of the passage 8 to the outside of the apparatus. The catalysts 4 are molded in the form of a honeycomb and have many air holes and the blowing pressure of a blower is small. Accordingly, the apparatus can be made smaller in size.
