CONSTITUTION:A dot matrix pattern is stored in a memory 1 by being scanned laterally on a CRT. When this is used for a longitudinal printer, longitudinal writing data of addresses 1,4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, and 22 among patterns obtained from the memory 1 are loaded into a longitudinal-lateral converting circuit 2 successively. The address 1 loaded at first to the circuit 2 is transferred as B0 to a line buffer 3, and the final one as B7. The output of the buffer 3 is composed of three bytes in a pin data regiser 4 and then transferred to a printer mechanism. Thus, a lateral writing character body is turned by 90 deg.C to constitute a longitudinal writing character body, thus drawing up a lateral writing document.
