Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep constant the quantity of irradiated light and to make the manufacture of a spectral characteristic measuring apparatus of good performance possible, by detecting a part of light from a monochromator by a photodetector and controlling a coninuous ND filter by the output of detected light. CONSTITUTION:Light from a monochromator is irradiated to sample through a cotinuous ND filter and also, a part of it is detected by a photodetector composed of a vacuum thermocouple. Said filter is rotated by the output of detected light and irradiated light from the monochromator is converted automatically into a constant energy. For example, on occasion of irradiating light from a light source 1 to sample 5 through the monochromator 2, a light collector 3 provided with a continous ND filter and a half mirror 3', is interposed on the way and a part of the light is detected by the photodetector 4 having no dependent property for wavelength and constituting of a vacuum thermocouple and then, a controller 7 is operated by the output of detected light. Further, said ND filter is rotated and the sample is irradiated always by the light having a constant energy.
