Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce feed resistance of electric power and increase a feed amount of machining liquid, by extending a wire cut electric discharge machining wire electrode through the hollowed hole of a hollow column-shaped body and feeding the electric power through said hollow column-shaped body. CONSTITUTION:A wire electrode 1 is positioned by a die 3 and pulled downward at a certain angle through the hollowed hole 71 of cylindrical power feed unit 7. The power feed unit 7 is provided in a position eccentrically located from the center of a retainer 6 to surely obtain a contact with the wire electrode 1. Machining liquid 8 is fed to a machining gap from a nozzle 4 to simultaneously pass through the hollowed hole 71 of the power feed unit 7 and cool the wire electrode 1. In this way, the distance from a power feed part to a machining part can be reduced to decrease electric power feed resistance. Further the wire electrode can be fully cooled by a small amount of machining liquid, then a feed amount of the machining liquid can be increased to the machining part.
