Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a switch for remote control without malfunction due to mixture of electric noise,by providing a switch part, which changes the quantity of transmission light, in the halfway point of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A light source 1 such as a light emitting diode and a photodetector 2 such as a phototransistor are connected by an optical fiber 3, and the light from the light source 1 is led to the photodetector 2 to generate a prscribed operation signal, and a switch part 4 which changes the quantity of the transmission light in the optical fiber 3 to control the opeation of the photodetector 2 is provided in the halfway point of the optical fiber 3. One optical fiber 3 is folded halfway into a U form, and the clad of the folded parts is removed to expose the core, and the quantity of the transmission light is changed by the change of the light refractive index of the core part caused by touching the core part with fingers, thus constituting the switch part 4.
