Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable discharge to be carried out irrespective of the change in water pressure by providing an electrolyte circulating route with an equalizing mechanism for balancing the internal pressure and the external water pressure, and facilitating the regulation of electrolyte concentration. CONSTITUTION:Electrolyte contained in a reserve tank 4 is supplied to a generation cell part 1, which consists of a positive electrode and a negative lithium electrode, by means of an electrolyte circulating pump 5 fitted with a vapor-liquid separator. The reserve tank 4 is provided with a concentration controlling device 8, which introduces sea water and exhausts electrolyte through an opening 9 so as to control the concentration of electrolyte contained in a battery. The tank also is provided with an equalizing device 10 for balancing the internal pressure of the battery and the external water pressure. Sea water introduced through a sea water intake scope 11 is passed inside the device 10, and is exhausted from an exhaust port 12.
