Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy with an accuracy reading of a calibration mark by means of a light shielding plate positioned on both sides of the mark on a panel of an optical detector on an inspection head. CONSTITUTION:A panel 14 such as offset printing plate is placed on a punching plate 13 and an optical inspection head 10 is reciprocated to measure the area of a pattern. At this point, the optical inspection head 10 is exposed under lights from two light sources 23 for linear lighting on a panel 14 in slits through a mask 26 and the reflected lights are received with light shielding boxes 31 arranged in a line. A pair of light shielding plates 37 are provided at the position corresponding to a calibration mark 35 provided at the edge section of the panel 14. This enles the reception of the reflected lights from the calibration mark 35 as measuring reference free from adverse effects from the surrounding area thereby assuring an accurate reading.
