Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance heat-exchanging performance of a heat exchanger, by a method wherein a seal ring is installed between a toroidal flange formed at the upper end of an internal shell, and a flange formed at the upper end of a baffle- tube, as well as a faffle-tube to encircle a bundle of heat exchanger tubes from outside is provided.
CONSTITUTION: A seal ring 55 is installed between a toroidal flange 53 formed at the upper end of an internal shell 7, and a flange 51 formed at the upper end of a baffle-tube 47, as well as a baffle-tube 47, consisting of eight baffle plates 49 and encircling a bundle of heat exchanger tubes 45 from outside, which is composed of a plurality of heat transfer tubes 43, and is provided between tube plates 21 and 35, in a heat exchanger, performing heat-exchange between heating media of high temperature, reaching above several hundreds of degrees. With such an arrangement, the primary gas of high temperature flows through heat exchanger tubes 45, being distributed nearly uniformly through these tubes, introduced by a baffle-tube 47. In addition, a bypass flow between the internal shell 7 and the bundle of heat exchanger tubes 45 is prevented by the functions of the baffle-tube and the seal ring 55, so that the heat exchange efficiency of the heat exchanger is enhanced to the maximum.
