PURPOSE:To enable drain to be discharged to an elevated level by a method wherein, an solenoid valve mounted in the middle of a cold water line is caused to operate according to a water level, and a negative pressure in the cold water line, generated by the valve, actuates a diaphragm pump. CONSTITUTION:Solenoid valve 13 and 14 are normally in an OFF state, and a cold water flows in a cold water line 11. If drain accumulates in a drain tank 15, the solenoid valve 13 is closed by a command from a level switch 16. This increases a pressure in the cold water line and a branch line 12, which results in pressing down a diaphragm 18A, pushing downward a piston 21, and pushing upward drain in a cylinder to a drain discharge pipe 20 through a line 19. Then, the valve 13 is opened, and the valve 14 is closed. This causes lowering of a pressure in the lines 11 and 12, which results in pulling up the diaphragm 18A and in moving upward the piston 21 to enable the drain to flow into a cylinder.
