Abstract
PURPOSE: To simply and surely perform starting and stopping of siphon pipe, by connecting the siphon pipe for backwashing to a water tank, and sucking air in the siphon pipe by the water-head difference caused by discharging water from the tank.
CONSTITUTION: Raw water is fed into a water tank 19 to the water level A from a raw water flow-in channel 2 by opening automatic valves V1 and V3 and closing an automatic valve V2 and then opening an automatic valve V4 in sequence, and the valve V4 is closed after supplying said water. Next, when the valves V1 and V2 are opened and the valve V3 is closed, a compressed air in an outer pipe 29 flows out from an air vent pipe 28 causing the lowering of the air pressure in the upper part of the pipe 29, and then the water in the tank 19 is discharged rapidly from a water discharging pipe 23 through a flow-through port 30. Thus air in a siphon pipe 5 for backwashing is sucked into the tank 19 through a communicating pipe 20, and that causes a rapid lowering of the air pressure in the pipe 5, and then water in a filtering basin 3 is discharged from a chamber 13, into which waste water after backwashing flows, to a said water-staying channel 16 through the siphon pipe 5. Further the valve V2 closes im mediately when the water in the tank 19 begins to flow out, and the stopping of the siphon pipe 5 is performed by the valve V3.
