Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to lift water with no use of mechanical power such as an impeller or the like, by discharging water via a check valve through utilization of pressure rise produced by water dropped from a high place. CONSTITUTION:Water flowing vigorously into a water passage 2 from a high place impinges onto an inwardly opened water release valve 6 and forces it open, so that rapid pressure rise is caused in the water passage 2. This results in lifting of a check valve 3, so that water flows into a tank 4 while compressing air in the tank 4. Here, since the pressure in the water passage 2 becomes negative temporarily, a water release valve 6 is opened toward the inside of the passage 2 and water remaining therein is released to the outside. Subsequently, water is introduced again into the water passage 2 from the high place and the above-mentioned procedures are repeated. Thus, water introduced into the tank 4 is pumped up through a lifting pipe 4A and stored in a required station. In the above arrangement, a spring 9 is attached to the release valve 6, so that a desired valve opening timing can be selected by adjusting the tensile force of the spring 9 by a screw 7.
