Abstract

PURPOSE:To monitor the operation state of a slanting plate type compressor by making a cylinder block, having a slanting plate chamber, of a nonmagnetic material, and by making a slanting plate of a magnetic material as a part to be detected. CONSTITUTION:As a driving shaft 3 coupled with a power source turns a slanting plate 5 stuck to it to reciprocate a piston 8 in a cylinder bore 4, thereby compressing a fluid to be compressed. Through the turning of the driving shaft 3, a detected part consisting of the circumferential part of the slanting plate 5 moves on a periodic motion track and when the detected part confronts to a magnet 20, magnetic flux changes in density to generate a currnt at a coil 21 surrounding the magnet 20. Then, when a pulse-existence detector supplied with the said output detects no set time pulse existing, an electromagnetic clutch coupling the driving shaft with the power source is placed in a released state. Thus, the driving source and its relative equipments are protected.
