Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the operation of a rotary forging machine sure and prolong its life by piercing plural lines of grooves encircling the respective axial centers of the top surface of a bolster and the bottom surface of a lower bolster on these surface, communicating the grooves with each other and passing cooling liquid therein.
CONSTITUTION: In the rotary forging machine, the blank material held in a die 17 is pressed locally by a punch 12 making precession, whereby it is gradually deformed. At this time, the surfaces of the dies 12, 17 which have been elevated of temp. by the deformation heat of the blank material and the frictional heat between the blank materials and the dies 12, 17 are cooled by cooling liquid contg. lubricants. On the other hand, the temp. elevation of the upper part of the punch 12 and the lower part of the die 17 extend to a bolster 11 and a lower bolster 40, respectively. However, the cooling liquid is circulated in the annular grooves pierced in the top surface of the bolster 1 and the bottom surface of the lower bolster 40 respectively, whereby the temp. elevation in the bearing parts in the upper part of the bolster 11 and the wedge of the lower bolster 40 is virtually prevented.
