Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance utilization efficiency of a particulate activated carbon layer used in adsorbing a fuel vapor of an automobile or the like by a method wherein plural monolithic structure is provided and the fuel vapor is flowed through the monolithic structure and the particulate activated carbon layer in a meandering condition.
CONSTITUTION: In a resin container 7 of a fuel evaporation preventing apparatus, particulate activated carbon layers 10aW10c of which an interior is divided by ring shaped partition plates 13aW13c so as not communicate mutually and monolithic structures 11a, 11b are laminated mutually through filters 12aW12d. A fuel vapor from an introducing pipe 1 through a check valve 5, a filter 15 and a pipe 6a is passed in a meandering condition through the monolithic structures 11a, 11b and the particulate activated carbon layers 10aW10c. Therefore, all area of the particulate activated carbon layer and even the monolithic structure itself can be utilized in adsorbing the fuel vapor.
