Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the performance of a fuel vapor recoverer by providing electrodes on both ends facing each other of a fuel vapor adsorbent layer consisting of activated carbon in order to heat the activated carbon for promoting the desorption of adsorbed fuel vapor.
CONSTITUTION: When applying the recoverer to the intake system of engine, fuel is vaporized in the float chamber 8c of the carbureter 8 and the intake passage 6 when an engine being operated is stopped, and then the fuel vapor filled reaches the inside of the filtering material 5 in the case 3, stays at the bottom of the case 3 by its own weight, enters the adsorption chamber 12 through the holes of the separation plate 13, and then adsorbed on the adsorbent layer 14 of activated carbon.
