Abstract
PURPOSE: To restrict the elution amounts of heavy matals to within the ranges conforming to environmental standards, by previously adding lime to incinerated ashes when disposing the incinerated ashes by kneading them with cement.
CONSTITUTION: The incinerated ashes are kneaded with lime added thereto in an amount of up to about 5% of the dry weight thereof. The amount of lime added is adapted to the acidity of the incinerated ashes so as to make the ashes neutral or acidic. Then, after adding cement, the whole mixture is kneaded again. Namely, the incinerated ashes A are received in a hopper 1, refuse B such as empty cans is removed at a feeder 2, then the residual ashes C are conveyed by a conveyor 4 and a predetermined amount thereof is charged into a measuring device 6, followed by opening a lower part of the device 6 to charge the measured amount of the ashes C into a kneader 9. Similarly, a measured amount of lime D is charged into the kneader 9 and is kneaded with the ashes. Then, after a similarly measured amount of cement E is charged into the kneader 9 and is kneaded with the ash-lime mixture, the kneaded material is discharged through a gate F.
