Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a ship from moving away from a quay by holding the bottom of the ship by a floating inflated pneumatic mat connected to the shore.
CONSTITUTION: A pneumatic mat 3 is moored to a sinker 5 with the one end 3b of wirerope whose another end 3a is moored to the quay. The mat 3 is seated on the sea bottom when it is not inflated. Compressed air blows into this pneumatic mat 3 through the manual control valve 6b. Then, the pneumatic mat 3 is inflated, floats up and embraces the bottom of ship. The ship, adhered to this mat by friction of this pneumatic mat 3 inflated and floated up, is moored completely. When the ship leaves, the air is relieved from the mat so that the mat is sunken. Then this pneumatic mat sinks and the ship is released.
