Abstract

1442869 Emergency buoyancy equipment A P PEDRICK 19 Sept 1974 40835/74 Heading B7S To provide emergency buoyancy, an inflatable floatation collar 2 of flexible material is secured between the normal water line and deck level on the outside of the hull of a boat, the collar being normally held folded by cords 3 which are broken as the collar is inflated from a compressed gas store 5 within the hull. The collar may be of rubber and have life lines 4 attached. Inflation may be via solenoid valves 6 actuated by an electric circuit including a push button 8.
