PURPOSE:To enable long-term stable processing in automatic development by using the iron salt of aminopolycarboxylic acid as a bleaching agent for a bleaching bath and adjusting the pH of a fixing bath to 7.0-7.8 so as to nake washing bath between the bleaching and fixing baths unnecessary or to carry out washing with a little water. CONSTITUTION:A bleaching bath contg. the iron complex of aminopolycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof represented by formulaI[where M is an alkali metal such as Na, K or Li, or an ammonium salt, each of A1-A4 is (substituted) hydrocarbon, and Z is (substituted) hydrocarbon contg. optionally O, S or N]or by formula II [where M' is identical with M, and each of A5-A7 is (substituted) hydrocarbon] is used.
