Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover silver salt of high purity at high recovery rates by diluting the waste liquid of a bleaching bath with water, leaving it, and allowing the rinsing bath or the waste liquid of the rinsing bath in succession to the bleaching bath to stand still in the treatment process for silver halide color photographic materials. CONSTITUTION:In the treatment process for silver halide color photographic materials, particularly in the case of an automatic developing machine, the waste liquid of a bleaching bath is recovered at the instant when the total amount of the replenishing soln. to the bleaching bath has doubled the capacity of the bleaching tank, then water of 1/3-20 times, more preferably 1/2-10 times the volume of the waste liquid is added to the waste liquid and after leaving it for about one hour, the settling silver salt is recovered. The waste liquid of the preliminary rinsing bath of the rinsing bath in succession to the bleaching is simply left for about one hour, thereafter the precipitate is recovered. Alternately, the waste water of the preliminary rinsing bath is added in place of water to the waste liquid of the bleaching bath, and the silver salts in both waste liquids are recovered simultaneously. The silver salt recovered in this way has high purity; for example, its purity reaches 94% in AgBr and the recovery rate >=84%, thus a high recovery rate is obtained.
