Abstract

Clocks 2, 3 output clock signals having suitable values according to the ultrasonic propagation speeds in the specimen to a counter 6. The heights of the characteristics corresponding respectively to the above-mentioned widths are set respectively by plural height setting digital switches 7. A multiplexer circuit 8 is inputted with the height signals outputted by the switches 7, and are also inputted with the outputs and synchronizing signal of the counter 6 and output to an A/D converter. The width per one of plural rectangular shapes constituting a desired characteristic curve is set with a digital switch 5, and the height is set with the digital switches 7, by which the setting of distances is made possible.
