Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the decrease in the coercive force of a permanent magnet by pulverizing samarium-cobalt permanent magnet alloy, immediately covering the surfaces of the finely pulverized powder with silicone and thereby preventing the oxidation or volatilization of samarium component. CONSTITUTION:A device which has a pulverizing cylinder 3 including an inlet 1 and an outlet 2 for organic solvent, e.g., hexane, alcohol, etc., a rotationary shaft 4 coaxially supported with the cylinder 3, rotational arms 5 implanted radially to the shaft 4, and balls 6 is used to circulate organic solvent added with silicone coil of 7-13wt% in the cylinder 3. The samarium-cobalt permanent magnet alloy is pulverized and the pulverized powder surface is covered with silicone.
