Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to return control to an operation start point temporarily when interrupted operation is to be restarted, by a numeric controller which uses a pulse motor, through a companing circuit which obtains the output of the position difference between the output of a detector detecting the absolute position of a moving body and a driving command for the display of the absolure position. CONSTITUTION:An absolute position based upon the operation start point of a moving body 6 driven by a pulse motor 5 through a gear 7 is detected by a potentiometer 8, whose output 9 is converted by a converting circuit 10 from analog to digital to input the converted signal to a comparing circuit 3. A driving command 1 for the dispaly of a new target position of the moving body 6, on the other hand, is inputted to the comparing circuit 3 through a register 2, and the position difference output 11 between the output 9 and command 1 is transferred to a pulse motor driving circuit 4. The driving circuit 4 drives the motor 5, and consequently the moving body 6 moves toward the new target position while the output 9 varies. Therefore, when the moving body 6 reaches the new target position, the position difference output 11 goes to a 0 and the driving of the motor 5 by the circuit 4 ends.
