Abstract
PURPOSE:To give a smoke chamber non-directionally instead of making it rectangular by leading the light beams from a light source to the smoke chamber through an optical fiber and making conical the illuminated zone. CONSTITUTION:Light beams from a light source 5 positioned at a suitable place in a main body 1 are transmitted to a smoke chamber 4 through optical fiber 7, and illuminate conical zones by an illuminating member 10a. The light beams diffused by smoke that comes in the illuminated zones B are collected by a light collecting member 10b to shoot a light receiving element 6. The inner faces of connectors 3 and a lid 2 constituting the smoke chamber 4 are light absorbing and non-reflecting members 11 are also provided. When a fire breaks out, its smoke gets onto the smoke chamber 4, and when it reaches the illuminated zones B diffused beams are created and they reach the light receiving element 6 through the light collecting member 10b, and the existence of smoke is sensed by a smoke detection circuit.
