Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to consitute the apparatus from a low grade stainless steel by a method wherein nitrate ion is contained in an absorbing liquid of an exhaust gas and an apparatus to be used is constituted of a stainless steel containing a specific amount of chromium to reduce corrosion of said stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas is blown into an exhaust gas absorbing liquid 3 by an exhaust gas blow-in pipe 12 through an exhaust gas supply pipe 2. In said exhaust gas absorbing liquid 3, an aqueous solution of a sulfur dioxide gas fixing agent from a sulfur dioxide gas fixing agent supply pipe 4 and an oxygen containing gas is blown thereinto from an oxygen supply pipe 5. In said exhaust gas absorbing liquid 3, nitrate ion preventing corrosion of stainless steel is contained. Further, stainless steel of which 3 chromium content is 16% or more is used in a total part contacted with the exhaust gas absorbing liquid containing nitrate ion having corrosion control effect of stainless steel. Thereby, corrosion of stainless steel due to chlorine ion is remarkably lowered and, further, an apparatus can be constituted from low grade stainless steel.
