Abstract
PURPOSE:To conduct smooth rolling by sufficiently utilizing the capacity of a motor at the time of the variation of tension within an allowable range and giving a drooping characteristic to the speed controller only when tension varies at some fixed value or higher. CONSTITUTION:The speed of the rolling rolls of each rolling mill is set by value obtained by multiplying a speed setter 17 and each speed regulator 18a, 18b. The speed of each rolling roll 2a, 2b is controlled so as to equalize by means of the speed controllers 5a, 5b power converters 4a, 4b and the motors 3a, 3b to each setting of the speed given. The motor currents of the motors 3a, 3b of each rolling mill are detected by means of detectors 12a, 12b, and only rolling currents are given to drooping characteristic circuits 15a, 15b through adjustable speed current removing circuits 13a, 13b. Blind sectors are formed to the detecting load currents of predetermined value or lower by means of blind sector setters 16a, 16b in the drooping characteristic circuits 15a, 15b.
