PURPOSE:To prevent the recording surface of a beltlike recording body from having a flaw by providing a means of detecting the seam position of the beltlike recording body, and by bringing the front edge of transfer paper into contact with the flank of the recording body at the same position. CONSTITUTION:With a start button pushed, a recording-body carrier roller 1 turns as shown by the arrow to drive a belt-like recording body 2, and when a reflecting plate 9 provided at the seam position of the body 3 reaches where light from a light emitting element 7 is received, reflected light from the reflecting plate 9 is detected by a photodetection sensor 8 to detect the seam position of the recording body 2. With a seam-position detection signal from the sensor 8, a motor 5 for a paper feeding roller is driven to supply transfer paper 3 thorugh the paper feeding roller 6 and a transfer-paper carriage roller 4. When the seam position of the recording body 2 comes to under a recording-body carriage roller 1, the front edge part of the transfer paper 3 collides against the seam of the recording body 2 to position the transfer paper 3, and the paper feeding roller slips owing to friction with the transfer paper 3, so that the transfer paper 3 and recording body 2 move synchronizing with each other.
