Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a method and device for generating signals for calibrating a rotation irregularity meter which is capable of easily obtaining frequency modulated pulse trains by combining carrier waves of triangular waves and modulated waves of sine waves and by causing the composite waves to pass through an amplitude comparator. CONSTITUTION:Composite waves C1-C3 are made by combining carrier waves A1-A3 (frequency fo, amplitude Vfo) of triangular waves, for instance, of which level varies rectilinearly with respect to time, with modulated waves B1-B3 (frequency fs, amplitude Vfs) of sine waves, etc. When composite waves C1-C3 are caused to pass through an amplitude comparator and cut at point 0, they become square waves D1-D3. As rise points of square waves D1-D3 are taken out as pulses E1-E3, they are phase modulated depending on modulated waves B1-B3. When these waves are converted into FM waves, the degree of modulation is proportional to (Vfs.fs)/ (Vfo.fo), therefore if fs/fo is set at a fixed value, the degree of modulation can be easily changed in proportion to the amplitude ratio between triangular wave and sine wave, and rotation irregularity signals can be obtained as required.
