Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a two-part adhesive capable of rapidly forming an adhesive layer having excellent water-resistance and heat-resistance, by using a specific acrylic aqueous emulsion prepared by the polymerization under specific conditions as a component, and an aqueous solution of a polyvalent metal salt as the other component.
CONSTITUTION: The objective two-part adhesive is composed of (A) an aqueous emulsion of an acrylic polymer having a glass transition point of -80W+40°C and obtained by the emulsion polymerization of 100pts.wt. of a mixture of (i) a component composed mainly of a (meth)acrylic acid ester of formula (R1 is H or methyl; R2 is 1W12C substituent group), e.g. n-octyl acrylate, and other polymerizable vinyl monomers (e.g. styrene) and (ii) 0.1W20wt% of a carboxyl group-containing monomer (e.g. acrylic acid) in the presence of 0.0001W1.0pt.wt. of an anionic surface active agent (e.g. sodium oleate soap), and (B) an aqueous solution of a polyvalent metal salt (e.g. organic acid salt of magnesium, etc.) as a curing agent.
