Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable local leakage test easily, by fitting a cover to a mechanical seal part and pressing a formed tightly closed chamber. CONSTITUTION:A projection part 2a of a rotating machine 2 is inserted into an opening 10 of a cover 8 and enclosed, and the contacting face of the cover and a head casing 3 are closely contacted in watertight state and fixed. By sealing the cover 8 and the head casing 3 in watertight state, the inside of the cover and the mechanical seal 1 are formed into a tightly closed chamber 9. A switching valve 4 or 5 is opened and fluid is filled in the cover from a pipe 7 or 6 and the valve is closed through pressing the tightly closed chamber. With this state, while turning the rotating machine, when a leakage is checked, even if a fine gap exists in the mechanical seal part 1, the leakage can be found out through the presence of pressurized fluid, allowing accurate leakage test.
