Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the infiltration of water into defective parts of a pressure vessel by housing therein a bag-shaped member made of a non-water permeable soft material having first and second openings in such a manner as to match the internal shape thereof while withstanding a test pressure. CONSTITUTION:A bag-shaped section 9 made of a non-water permeable material is inserted into a pressure vessel 1 having openings 1a and 1b in such a manner as to match the internal shape thereof in a size large enough with respect to internal capacity thereof while to transmit a test pressure evenly to the inner wall thereof withstanding it. Water is injected from either of openings 10 of a projection 11 to pressurize a specified test pressure. With the application of the pressure, the bag member 9 adheres tightly to the inner wall surface of the vessel 1 whereby a pressure is applied on the vessel 1 through the bag-shaped member 9. This prevents the infiltration of water into defective parts, in any, of the pressure vessel.
