Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize a position control of a ball and improve the strength of a cage for providing an excellent workability by constantly applying force to the ball in a definite direction and by enlarging a contact surface between the ball and cage as well.
CONSTITUTION: A cage 18 is provided with an outer sphere surface and a sphere surface having the center of carvature at S1 and S2 respectively. When oprating, the cage 18 is subjected to the force which determines the position of center. The force subjects a ball to receive a center positioning action by their respective rolling surfaces of the ball's rolling grooves 4 and 15 as well as the cage 18. With this construction, the ball 23 is correctly positioned to the center which halves the angle produced between the rotary axis of a rotary shaft 9, so that the stability can be enhanced and the thickness of the cage 18 can be also increased. At the same time, the strength of the cage 18 can be improved by enlarging the contact sirface to the side surface of a ball window 22.
