Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect transistors (TR) without deteriorating switch characteristics and causing the loss of electric power source, by detecting an output current by a Hall element and by disconnecting an output current path immediately when the output current exceeds a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:The emitters of TRs 4a and 4b constituting an output amplification stage are connected mutually and from the connection point, an output terminal 6 is led out. Then, a signal appearing at the terminal 6 is supplied to a load 7 through the switch SW10a of a relay 10. A Hall element 11 is arranged closely on a wire 14 between the terminal 6 and SW10a to obtain a voltage signal, which cor responds to an output current I0 flowing through the wire 14, at the output terminal 11d of the element 11. The thus obtained voltage signal is adjusted normally to a voltage, lower than a breaking voltage, to the base of a TR21 through rectifying circuit 17 and the connection point P between a resistance 19 for voltage division and a variable resistance 20. When the current I0 exceeds the prescribed value, the TR21 turns on to turn off a TR23, thereby breaking an output current path.
