According to the number of tracks desired for jump, the number of productions of control signals PH, PL is combined to output the signal and applied to a rotating control section 9 together with a signal indicating the direction of track. Next, the section 9 controls the rotation of a galvano-mirror 4 defelcting light from a laser light source 3. Thus, in comparison with conventional methods jumped at every one track, the access time can be remarkably reduced.
