Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to regenerate signals recorded on a recording disc at any speed by providing a jumping controller and then by making a scan jumping tracks. CONSTITUTION:When a jumping synchronizing pulse is inputted under tracking control, jumping command circuit 26 outputs a jumping command to make tracking control in effective and at the same time, jumping voltage generating circuit 27 develops a jumping voltage to drive tracking element 17. Therefore, light beam 2 crosses tracks. On confirming that light beam 2 is on an assigned track, jumping stop pulse generating circuit 25 outputs a jumping stop command to close switches 13 and 14, thereby making tracking control effective. In this way, signals can be regenerated at a speed different from a recording speed.
